Who is a Partial Hospitalization Program best for?
PHP is ideal for clients who have come from an inpatient setting who are able to maintain their independence in the community, or those who need more mental health counseling support than offered in part-time or traditional outpatient treatment. It’s a great transitional step between inpatient and part-time outpatient treatment programs. This is a full time program.
Who is an Intensive Outpatient Program Best for?
IOP is ideal for treating certain mental health conditions and may be suitable for people experiencing mild to moderate symptoms or who need an intermediate level of support before they leave treatment. Intensive mental health therapy and treatment is limited to only a few hours three days a week. It offers many of the same benefits of full-time treatment without time away from other responsibilities. It can be thought of as part-time therapy while PHP is full-time.
