La Ventana Santa Barbara offers Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) levels of care for adults and adolescents struggling with eating disorders and primary mental health diagnoses. The opportunity to live in the tranquil environment on the American Riviera while attending treatment gives clients serenity and peace as they transition out of their eating disorder and mental health struggles, and into recovery.
Our office is nestled in the hills, blocks from the ocean and scenic downtown Santa Barbara. The comprehensive IOP program runs six days a week, with a special family immersion programs on Saturdays. The PHP program both day and evening tracks to accommodate a variety of schedules and treatment needs. Free support groups, alumni groups, and other educational in-services are available to the community.
Andrea Kulberg, Ph.D., Clinical Director of La Ventana Santa Barbara, brings her expertise in Family-Based Treatment (FBT) to our teens and families in recovery. FBT, also known as the Maudsley approach, trains parents in effectively managing their child’s meal plan and behaviors at home, concurrent with ongoing outpatient care. Through this training, Dr. Kulberg works with families in our adolescent programs to take a hands-on approach to their child’s eating disorder recovery.
Dr. Kulberg hosts a free Parent Community Group on Tuesday evenings from 4:15pm to 5:30pm at La Ventana Santa Barbara. This group empowers parents through education, tools, and support. All community members are welcome to attend, including school counselors, professionals, family members, or individuals in recovery.
Instead of focusing on the symptoms, La Ventana’s holistic, comprehensive, and innovative treatment philosophy centers on treating the whole person and the underlying issues that have led to harmful behaviors. With locations from city to sand along the California coast, we proudly treat all ages and genders. Call 800.560.8518 today.
