What is Detox?
Detoxification is the process of allowing the body to rid itself of a drug while managing the symptoms of withdrawal. It is often the first step in a drug treatment program and should be followed by treatment at a certified and licensed drug and alcohol treatment center. Detox alone with no follow-up is not treatment.
At La Ventana Treatment Programs detox occurs in a safe, comfortable, home-like environment on our Ranch Style home located in Thousand Oaks. The peaceful serenity that accompanies the detox at La Ventana provides a transition into treatment. Counseling and group therapy is available for those who are able to participate.
La Ventana’s Residential and Residential Detox Substance Abuse Treatment Program is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Their PHP & IOP Substance Abuse Programs run 6 days per week, Monday through Saturday with both day and evening IOP programs. The substance abuse treatment team at La Ventana consists of an internal medicine doctor (at the Residential Detox Program), a psychiatrist, licensed therapists and interns, chemical dependency counselors, spiritual advisors, registered dietitians, resident advisors, fitness and nutrition experts, and outside professionals who are utilized for their specialty experiential sessions (i.e. neurofeedback, equine, yoga, meditation, music, art, etc.).
